November Volleyball in the 330…

Welcome to JO Volleyball’s usual, annual “tryout season.” In our community, we are so fortunate to have a lot of great options. If your daughter wants to play good VOLLEYBALL, there are no shortage of clinics, teams, tryouts, open gyms, leagues, and coaches.

The Akron/Canton area alone has Elite, Ohio Xtreme, Nova, Impact, Zero Gravity, Top Flight, Club Extreme, and probably a dozen other clubs we should name right now. Most of them have events and tryouts here in November, and we think it’s great and helpful to attend more than one! Each time you play, you get to know more coaches, teams, players, and programs. You learn something. You overcome some fears of being in a new gym with a bunch of new faces. You realize that sometimes you play well, and sometimes you don’t.

Ultimately, we think every young person who wants to play extra volleyball should have the opportunity to do that! For those that don’t join club teams, there are some great weekend leagues at Elite, First Friends Church, and now Impact! Because Volleyball is such an incredibly popular (and growing?) sport, we’ve seen so many new programs, leagues, teams, and training opportunities get launched in the past two years.

It’s awesome! The more we watch, play, and learn about Volleyball, the more we grow as friends, athletes, teammates, leaders, encouragers, and advocates of the sport.

When we started to talk about launching ROGUE330, so many others in this space encouraged us and said new clubs are needed. More players want to play. Thousands of kids try out for Volleyball in the state of Ohio, and many of them don’t make teams or don’t have teams in their area. Even the larger clubs in our area are adding more teams for this 2023-24 season and that’s awesome.

In other words, as we enter “tryout season,” its great to see the growth of youth Volleyball as it continues and builds. We are excited to join the adventure, however it looks. Our club won’t claim or try to be better than anything else out there – we hope everybody has a great season!

For the players or families that choose to “Go Rogue,” we are honored and excited to start November with you. We love hearing from your friends who might be interested. Our coaches can’t stop talking, planning, dreaming about what this winter could be like. It’s been great watching so many high school games, but we are more than ready for the “next” season… and it starts in November.
