A few Rogue330 updates for ya, as we try to survive this 99-degree heat week in early July.
#1 – OFFERS – We have made offers to a number of players from last year, inviting them to return to Rogue330 for the 2026-27 season. IF you received an offer, please let us know of your decision by e-mail or send the contract in as soon as you know. IF you have not received an early offer, please know that we would LOVE to see you at tryouts in July and/or November! As much as we would love to have every player return, we owe it to our teams and coaches to see which players will fit the new teams the best in July or November as we plan ahead for next season.
#2 – ALL NEW TEAMS – While we REALLY enjoyed last year’s teams, we are committed to assembling next year’s teams with a “what’s best for this NEW team” mindset. Quite often, we’ve found that players and schedules and levels change dramatically from year to year. As a club, we are grateful for the past, but we have to plan strategically for the future.
#3 – SUMMER WORKOUTS – Rogue330 has been hosting Monday afternoon workouts for 5-6 weeks this summer, and we are grateful and proud of all the players who have been available to join us. Small group sessions like this often help players get specific instruction and feedback on the position and mindset for passers, setters, and hitters!
#4 – PLAYING FOR YOUR SCHOOL – Some players elect not to try out for school teams or play summer ball. Every school is different. But it’s also a chance to play volleyball for almost zero cost, work on your conditioning, learn from coaches, and push yourself to get better. If a player chooses not to play (or practice) with their school, we don’t “hold that against them.” But we might ask why they didn’t, and encourage them to reconsider using school ball to develop mental toughness, work on skills and communication, and believe in yourself no matter what happens.
#5 – NEW PLAYERS – Rogue began contacting new players on July 1st, and we have a “Big Board” of players and positions we are looking to fill on our 16U and older teams. While we are excited about returning players from last season, it’s great to see some of you inviting friends or suggesting players who might LOVE the chance to have a great season at Rogue! For our older teams, we are not just looking for players who might be “good enough,” but rather for players who actually fit and thrive in our context.
